Just one day after the DVD release of “Dolphin Tale” in the United Kingdom, the film’s star—Clearwater Marine Aquarium’s Winter the Dolphin—was front and center at The Production Show (TPS) in London.

The bottlenose starlet was the focus of St. Pete/Clearwater Film Commissioner Jennifer Parramore’s booth (pictured) at the mega-tradeshow in west London’s Earls Court, February 14-16. TPS is commonly referred to as the United Kingdom’s top event for film and production professionals.

“Exhibiting at TPS is another avenue for us to reach an expanding market like the UK and to broadcast the ample film and print-work opportunities that the area has to offer,” Parramore said. “The “Dolphin Tale” response was huge and centering our pitch around the film’s success seemed to really resonate.”

Parramore was joined by film commissions from Miami-Dade and the Florida Keys-Key West to represent Film Florida and push the state’s incentives to an ever-growing roster of European clients.

Bolstered by the Winter-branded booth—a major hit with show attendees—the Florida team held several promising meetings with film makers. Parramore and her Floridian counterparts were the only U.S.-based film commissions to exhibit at the show, displaying yet another example of the state’s innovative marketing tactics.
